Doggy Daycare and Boarding General Manager
Quick Apply Full-time 6 days ago Full Job Description Running Acres is a small, but growing, family operated Doggy Daycare and Boarding with two facilities (Cambridge and Jefferson).
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our team at both locations.
Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years experience specifically in managing a Daycare/Boarding facility, and a total of no less than 5 years total pet care experience.
We are searching for a candidate highly skilled in staff management/training, dog body language and customer service.
Duties of the General Manager will include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring a clean environment for all guests.
o Daily and weekly check lists o Seasonal deep cleaning - Ensure a safe environment for all guests.
o Performing regular fence and kennel checks o Upkeep of pet vaccine records o Performing proper protocol for ill/unvaccinated pets o Thorough pet evaluations.
Removing pets from groups who pose a risk to others.
- Ensuring day to day paperwork is kept up to date including:
o Boarding kennel and run cards.
o Daycare cards (kennel, leash pouch and group board) o Al A care and bath lists o Package/Payment/Vaccine reminders for owners o Upkeep of client daycare packages and payments - Staff Management o Holding staff to the standard of care both in contact with pets and upkeep of the facility o Addressing staff issues in a positive and professional manner o Support of staff to complete tasks during busy times o Recognition of staff for a job well done o Training of new staff and continued training and support for current staff - Revenue o Helping to ensure that invoices are correct and proper payment is being collected o Encouraging, and supporting staff in encouraging Al A Carte activities - Facility Care o Close monitoring and care of facility to avoid preventable damages o Close monitoring and care of supplies to lessen waste - Staffing Hours o Pays close attention to schedule to ensure adequate, but not wastefully staffing.
o Seeks additional staffing for callouts or unexpectedly busy times o Cuts back overstaffing when work is ahead or during unexpectedly slow times o Communicates when additional staffing is needed o Participates in interview and hiring process - Daycare o Ensure that daycare groups are well managed and properly matched o Comfortable performing evaluations for both new and existing pets Overall, the General Manager is a dependable and hardworking person who staff look to as the example.
The General Manager is comfortable overseeing and directing staff to keep with the pace and needs for the day.
They are comfortable independently handling small to moderate staff issues without involvement of upper management/ownership.
They are respectful to both lower and higher up staff, as well as all customers.
Their customer service skills are outstanding, and they can diffuse small to moderate customer issues independently.
They always go above and beyond to see a potential issue and offer a thoughtful solution.
The General Manager is the first point of contact all staffing and pet issues.
General Managers take pride in the facilities, its appearance and cleanliness.
Scheduling is flexible from the hours of 6AM - 6PM depending on the needs of each location, and does include some weekends and holidays on an as needed basis.
Pay is based on experience, beginning at $21/hour.
The General Manager is also eligible for a yearly, merit and growth based bonus.
